GL Events confirms that Sirha Lyon will remain on the fair calendar this 2021, however, it has been postponed to September. It is not the first postponement that the show announces due to the coronavirus, since “for nearly a full year now, the food industry and Food Service sector have been among the most impacted by the health crisis”, explains Olivier Ginon, Chairman / CEO of GL events. Furthermore, he adds that “the return to business in January 2021 has not reduced the uncertainty surrounding the opening of restaurants in France, which is not expected to happen before the spring. Consequently, we have taken the exceptional decision to reschedule the edition”.

Thus, Sirha’s 20th edition will finally take place at Eurexpo Lyon from September 23 to 27 and will work to play an active role in the recovery of food service. “It will send a strong signal for recovery and reconquest. It paves the way for a new economy of Food Service for the post-Covid-19 era”, says Marie-Odile Fondeur, Managing Director of the show.

Sirha, now integrated under the Sirha Food brand, will also offer a new digital service: Sirha Connect, an app that will connect exhibitors and professional visitors before, during, and after the event, and will give the possibility of planning business meetings, among many other things.

The change of date will obviously affect the more than 20 competitions that the show hosts, among which is the Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie, which will have 20 countries face off on September 24 and 25.
