On September 18, the Relais Desserts Charles Proust 2022 was held at Le Paquebot des Yachts de Paris. This edition proposed Naturalité as a theme in order to raise awareness of the ecological impact that pastry making can have.

The candidates had to present an artistic piece in sugar & chocolate and an entremet that respected the environment, both in the choice of ingredients as well as in the processes used. Of all the contestants, Saori Sasaki -chef at the Tokyo pâtisserie school and the only female participant- won the first prize; Keita Tanaka, pastry chef at Japan Cake and Confection College, was ranked second, and Romain Bert, pastry chef at Vincent Guerlais, was third and honored with the taste award.
