On June 9, 10 and 11, Davos (Switzerland) will host a new edition of Chocovision, the biennial conference aimed at senior business leaders and key stakeholders in the cocoa, chocolate, and confectionery industry to discuss strategic topics of common interest.

Under the theme #Changemakers and through three different sessions (Explore, Empower and Engage), the meeting aims to explore the great drivers of change for the chocolate industry this year, analyze how to boost sustainable rural development, and provide a space for interacting with others and generating a positive impact on a large scale.

The Opening Night will be held on Tuesday, the 9th, where attendees can enjoy a keynote speech by Graça Machel, international advocate for women’s and children’s rights, former freedom fighter and first Education Minister of Mozambique. The Explore session will take place on Wednesday, the 10th in the morning, which will focus on how to use the unprecedented opportunities to innovate the industry and to solve major societal and environmental issues (digital technology, demographics, the climate debate, among others) through personalities such as Antoine de Saint-Affrique, CEO Barry Callebaut; Daniel Schmid, Chief Sustainability Officer SAP; Paul Polman, Founder of IMAGINE and former CEO Unilever; Prof. Dr. Tom Crowther, Crowther Lab, ETH Zurich, and scientific advisor to the UN Trillion Tree Campaign, and John Harthorne, Founder and former CEO  of MassChallenge. The Empower session will take place in the afternoon, dedicated to deciphering a new dynamic in high impact agricultural models to turn small farmers into entrepreneurs, women’s economic advancement, protecting children’s rights as well as ending deforestation and restoring forest areas. The Engage session will take place on the last day, Thursday the 11th, which will go from the idea that in order to achieve the goals of sustainable development, leadership by changemakers in business, politics, and civil society is needed. The speakers confirmed to date in this section are Sunny George Verghese, Co-Founder & CEO, Olam Group, and Chairman World Business Council for Sustainable Development; Marisa Drew, Head of Impact Investment, Credit Suisse; Robert Coviello, SVP Sustainability & Government Affairs, Bunge, and Kate Robertson Founder of One Young World.
