From January 19 to 23, Sigep will celebrate its 40th edition at the Rimini Expo Center. After the record figures achieved in 2018 -135,746 Italian buyers and 32,202 foreigners from 180 countries- the show will invest in structures, innovation and internationality to confirm its role as a pole of attraction for ice cream, coffee, pastry, and bakery professionals, with Italian gelato as the main argument. The ingredients that ensure the success of the exhibition are well known: exhibiting benchmark companies, international competitions, activities, and extremely specialized cooking shows.
Sigep is already promoting several appointments around the world to spread Italian manufacturing products of the sector and establish business relationships in order to further increase the international profile of the fair. In particular, it supports and promotes the Gelato Festival, which after the first Italian dates in Florence, Rome, Turin and Milan, will tour Europe and then the USA. The key international events of the Pastry Events will have presentation appointments in Manila and Gurgaon (India) in September, and in Lyon in October.
In 2019, it will once again be the framework of top events such as the 5th edition of the Junior World Pastry Championship, in which 12 pastry chefs under the age of 23 from five continents will participate. And in terms of ice cream, the fair will serve to select the team that will represent Italy in the Gelato World Cup 2020 (Coppa del Mondo della Gelateria).
