From January 18 to 22, Sigep celebrated its 41st edition and the figures show that the fair is still in good shape. According to the numbers provided by the organization, more than 200,000 professional visitors and 33,000 buyers from 187 countries, mainly from Spain, Germany and France, spent those days at Rimini Expo Center. These numbers are very similar to those obtained in the previous edition.

The event was held simultaneously with the sixth International Exhibition of Technologies and Products for Bakery, Pastry and Bakery A.B. Tech Expo. Both events, which hosted 1,250 exhibitors from more than 30 countries in a space of 129,000 m2, once again continue to consolidate as a space for business, internationality, competitions, and innovation.

The great novelty which stood out this year was the launch of Vision Plaza, a space in which experts from the confectionery industry exchanged opinions on how consumer habits have changed, what innovations will be launched during 2020, and what the trends are in the out of the home sector. And if one of the most intense moments of the event had to be underlined, it was undoubtedly the celebration of the ninth edition of the Ice Cream World Cup, which once again placed Italy at the top of the podium and granted Japan and Argentina second and third place respectively.
