Bread earns popularity in Sigep 2015

There are a lot of things changing within the bread industry. More and more, new trends are arising and businesses are starting to diversify, as noticed by the organizers of the prestigious international exhibition Sigep, which is to be held next 17th–21st January in Rimini (Italy). Among these changes, there is one which particularly stands out – the new trend of turning bakeries into multi-functional spaces where not only is bread sold but breakfasts, snacks and appetizers are served as well.

It is precisely in order to give an appropriate response to these changes that the space devoted to the bread industry (both on a semi-industrial dimension and an artisanal one) will be enlarged. Also, this change results from Sigep uniting efforts with the bread exhibition A.B.Tech Expo.

In the organization’s words, constant evolution ‘has made it necessary to establish a format which would ensure a better response for the new outlook of the sector.’ Therefore, there will be a space for the firms expanding the range of products which a baker can offer, with a special emphasis on catering and fast food solutions. As if this was not enough, the focus will also be set on other threads of great interest such as the latest packaging trends, interior design and bakery management.

Besides, the important space devoted to the bread industry will be enriched with a large number of parallel activities, among which the competition ‘Bread in the City’ stands out, with 8 international teams taking part in it and a jury which will have to evaluate bread specialties from all over the word.
