The names of the components of the UK team that will go to Lyon in 2017 have been unveiled. The UK is one of the Top 7 Countries which, having registered the highest scores in the last three editions of the Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie, has a direct ticket to the final.
Andy Blas, the ice candidate last year, returns to take on the ice challenge and, also captain the team. Florian Poirot, overall winner of the UK Pastry Open, will be responsible for the sugar part and Chris Zammit will be in charge of chocolate.
The president of this group is Martin Chiffers, recognized for successfully leading teams in pastry competitions. He led the UK Team – Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie, which won the European Pastry Cup Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie twice in 2012 and 2014 held in Paris and Geneva with best sugar and chocolate piece and highest points in all categories consecutively. He was also the coach for Ruth Hinks UK World Chocolate Master 2013, and was able to coach Ruth to a top 5 position in at The World Chocolate Masters held in Paris October 2013, the highest position ever for the UK.
