Dang Wen Li by Dominique Ansel, a brand new bakery concept created just for the people of Hong Kong, offers a limited-time series of classic pies for celebrations, from family reunions to Christmas or Thanksgiving.
“No Thanksgiving or Christmas meal is complete without the traditional pie ending,” he says. “I want to introduce the same joy and comfort that homemade pies bring to people here, to the people of Hong Kong.”
For the festive season, the establishment presents three delicious creations. Salted Caramel Apple, one of the American’s favorite sweets, packed with fall flavors and featuring a sweet apple filling and flaky buttery crust. Granny Smith apples are infused with warm spice notes and a hint of Bourbon that pairs perfectly with gooey salted caramel and displayed with a traditional lattice crust. Classic Pumpkin Pie, the signature Thanksgiving dessert, features a pumpkin puree filling coated in a golden puff pastry crust, accented with hints of spice and topped with a rim of fall ‘foliage’. Caramelized Pecan Pie, first released last year and much loved by Ansel fans, is another classic American Thanksgiving dessert with a golden buttery crust, a filling of chopped and caramelized pecans, maple syrup, and a drizzle of whiskey.
