Sigep, ‘The Dolce World Expo’, returns to its face-to-face format in 2022. The 43rd edition of the show will take place from January 22 to 26 at the Rimini Exhibition Center and, as Corrado Peraboni, CEO of IEG-Italian Exhibition Group, points out, “will be the Italian World Ambassador of dolce, tracing, through talk shows, presentations and demonstrations, the evolutionary path of a sector that, in recent years, has faced unprecedented challenges.”

The outlooks are optimistic: 1,000 exhibiting brands and a large participation of the main buyers, associations, and brands from all the continents (Europe, America, Africa, and Asia). Lorenzo Cagnoni, president of IEG, adds, “my agenda, the digital business matching extension between international operators and exhibitors in the gelato, pastry, chocolate, coffee, and bakery sectors, is already active to pre-schedule business meetings now and favor networking with operators from the more distant markets.”

In the Vision Plaza, a reflection of the macro trends in the sector, experts and opinion leaders from the international scene will take turns presenting visions about the future of the business of all things sweet. In the Pastry Arena, great pastry chefs will give demonstrations and talks, highlighting new trends. Sigep Gelato d’Oro will take place in the Gelato Arena, a competition in which the members of the Italian team that will compete in the 2023 Gelato European Cup, the European qualifier for the Ice Cream World Cup, will be selected. In the Coffee Arena, there will be competitions for baristas and coffee professionals. And in the Bakery Arena there will be demonstrations organized by Club Richemont with international guests and special training sessions for young people.
