The next edition of ISM and ProSweets, which will take place from April 23 to 25, 2023 in Cologne (Germany), is arousing great interest in the confectionery and snacks industry.

ISM has registrations from 56 countries on all continents, as well as an increase in exhibition space compared to 2022. More than 30 collective stands have already confirmed their attendance, including Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, USA, Spain, France, Greece, Great Britain, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, and Ukraine. Groups from the People’s Republic of China, Latvia, Lithuania and Taiwan who did not participate last year will also be present again.

Existing challenges in the fields related to climate, raw materials, energy, supply chains, logistics and digitalization form the thematic core of the parallel program of the show. “In the framework of these discussions, resilience and the production of confectionery and snack products that respect natural resources are topics that are more in demand than ever. In this next edition of the competition, together with the presentation of products, the center of attention will lie above all on the contents and topics that occupy the sector. In all of this, the personal exchange of ideas is of special importance, to which we have dedicated our own space with new formats for events and networking,” said Sabine Schommer, director of the ISM.

For its part, ProSweets will be held as a special edition which will be compact and agile. Like in previous years, the event will focus once on these four offer segments: packaging and packaging materials; production and packaging technology; operating equipment and auxiliary devices, and raw materials and ingredients. Alongside specialized and future-oriented topics, they are also integrated into the program’s current issues such as supply chains, changes in export-oriented geostrategy, or the scarcity of energy and resources.
