On Saturday January 23, the third edition of The Pastry Queen was held within the framework of Sigep.

Once again, Grupo Vilbo was privileged to be a member of the jury of the international press in the first round of the competition. A unique opportunity to see young pastry chefs from around the world in the glass dessert event.

Applicants from Croatia, France, Taiwan, Brazil, Japan, Russia, India and Italy gave their all to prove their professionalism, creativity and good taste. Their challenge: to prepare a modern cake, a coffee-flavored dessert cream, one portion of chocolate dessert, a mignon cake, and a sugar and pastillage sculpture, all of these with “dance” as the theme.

The competition ended with the victory of the Italian Silvia Federica Boldetti, led by Davide Malizia, 2013 Rimini Artistic Sugar World Champion. The second place went to the Japanese chef Aki Tanimura and the third for the French chef Marlène Bachellerie. Three professionals who show promise and surprised with pieces of classical aesthetics, but with true virtuosity.

Silvia Federica, who made the best individual serving of chocolate dessert, the best sculpture in sugar, and the best mignon cake according to the jury, succeeded to the throne of the Italian chef Sonia Balacchi (2012) and the American chef Cher Harry (2014).
