From January 18 to 22, 2020, the 41st edition of Sigep will take place at Rimini Expo Center. In a space of 129,000 m2, attendees will be able to discover a great exhibition offer of all sectors represented at the fair: artisanal ice cream, pastry, bakery, chocolate and coffee. An event that will also be enriched with the simultaneous celebration of the sixth International Exhibition of Technologies and Products for Bakery, Pastry and Confectionery A.B. Tech Expo

This edition will combine business, internationality and specialist training, without forgetting great competitions that give professionals around the world the opportunity for networking and training.

Focusing on pastry, The Star of Sugar will return, a competition that involves making sculptures in sugar with the new addition of the Travel Cake test. And that’s not the only pastry competition.  The Italian Senior Championships and the Italian Junior Championships will also be held, as well as Sigep Giovani, dedicated to youngsters of professional schools and institutes. However, we will have to wait until 2021 for The Pastry Queen and World Junior Pastry championships.

One of the most anticipated events is the Gelato World Cup. In its ninth edition, twelve countries will be competing: Mexico, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Poland, Argentina, Colombia, and Hungary. Something curious that has occurred is that France and Italy, the two countries that have won the various editions of the competition, have created support clubs for members of their teams. Associations that will also indirectly serve to increase the prestige and image of the ice cream makers.

And at the Bakery Arena the Bread in the City competition will be held, which in its fourth edition will have Holland, Spain, Peru, Japan, China, Switzerland, Germany, and Taiwan face off.
