Chocovision – a global outlook on the cocoa and chocolate business
Alberto Ruiz

Between the 17th and 19th of June, the town of Davos (Switzerland) will host Chocovision, the big international conference focused on the cocoa sector. It will once again bring together the leaders of the major companies and key players in the sector, from the cocoa producers to chocolate lovers, with the aim of exploring and establishing new approaches and solutions to secure a sustainable and successful future. Chocovision will act as a platform for presentations of what works, new projects, round table discussions, practical case studies…

Among those attending the conference will be the distinguished Leymah Gbowee, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2011 for her role as an activist in Liberia. Gbowee will speak about “The importance of utilsing the power of African women to make change happen.” Juergen Steinemann, CEO of Barry Callebaut, will focus his paper on the possibilities for revitalising the cultivation of cocoa by small farmers. Other experts, such as Aldo Uva and John Morris will concentrate on the contribution of the flavouring industry to improve quality of life and the trends in consumption and retail respectively.
