With Norohy, Valrhona shows its commitment to an ethical vanilla industry, responsible and respectful with both people and the environment. This high quality vanilla has sweet and floral aromas with powerful notes of cocoa. Due to its intensity, professional chefs can achieve maximum flavor in their recipes using up to 25% less quantity compared to other vanillas. In addition, it reduces food waste since it is possible to use the leftover beans several times to make infusions and even dry them to make a powder.
Norohy partners with organic farmers to purchase raw and harvested green vanilla beans directly from producers in two specific regions, Maroantsetra and Mananara, to ensure quality and traceability. Once collected and selected, the beans are processed and refined using traditional techniques to sort beans into similarly sized bunches and bind them with raffia. Additionally, the packaging process is carried out in Madagascar to ensure that the local community benefits from the value chain as much as possible.
