Hydrogenation is the process of adding hydrogen to a fat, increasing stability and producing longer shelf life products while generally adding trans fat. Health organizations recommend limiting the consumption of trans fat. Free from hydrogenated fats, Opal meets the growing needs of conscious consumers as part of the natural product trend, while continuing to offer an extended shelf life of 14 months, making it unique in today’s market.

Opal is available in a convenient ready-to-use service product format, eliminating the need for tempering. Easily melted and completely fluid at 35°C/95°F, it exhibits distinct characteristics. Its ability to set at room temperature makes it ideal for small bakeries and confectioners. Appropriate for enrobing, molding, depositing, glazing and creating appealing applications, Opal is resistant to cracking and easy to cut. In line with deZaan™ Gourmet’s high quality standards, Opal is Kosher, Halal and gluten-free.
The newest addition will complete deZaan™ Gourmet’s line of dark, milk and white chocolate, cocoa powders and service products. Created using quality ingredients, it was developed to inspire ingenuity and elevate applications. The official launch of Opal will take place in July 2015.
