As part of its development strategy, Sasa Demarle, specialist in non-stick cooking material for the bakery, pastry and all food trades, has acquired the start-up, Mokaya, an expert in custom and ultra-customized pastry molds. This purchase is part of the Group’s search for constant innovation which for 50 years has been designing and developing, through its Flexipan, Sasa and Silpat brands, kitchen materials that meet the needs of professionals and industrialists, as well as expert consumers and passionate people from all over the world. With Mokaya, Sasa Demarle adds 3D design expertise to its industrial know-how allowing the development of its full potential in the years to come and accelerate its time to market.

Creation by Michael Bartocetti

Mokaya, created by aeronautical engineers in 2017, combines 3D design and printing technologies with the knowledge of more than 100 pastry chefs, such as Pierre Hermé, Cédric Grolet, and Michael Bartocetti. Now, this young Parisian company becomes Sasa Demarle’s fourth brand and will benefit from its international influence in more than 120 countries.

Following this acquisition, the first step will be to target the US market for pastry utensils, valued at $150 million in 2019 and with an annual growth trend of 5% to 7% according to Grandview Research Industry.

“Thanks to Mokaya, the Sasa Demarle Group enters the coveted world of haute couture pastry. The combination of Mokaya’s 4.0 technology and Sasa Demarle’s industrial and commercial capabilities will enable pastry chefs around the world to respond even more quickly “comments Philippe Hémeray, President of the Sasa Demarle Group.
