The World Pastry, Chocolate, and Ice Cream Championship took place this past weekend at Host Fiera Milano, facing off up to 16 different teams and from which the Japanese team, formed by Tsuda Reisuke, Kenta Nakano, and Hiroyuki Emori, emerged as overall winner by scoring a total of 243.14 points. Behind them came Italy (240.36) and Austria (196,91), winning second and third place respectively. France has been relegated to seventh place, behind Mexico, Spain, Poland and the United Arab Emirates.
Organized by the Italian Federation of Pastry, contestants had to prepare three different artistic pieces, one in chocolate, another with sugar and the last one in pastillage. In addition to the artistic pieces, the contestants had to prepare two different types of bonbons, a single portion cake and ice cream dessert. Regarding the special prizes, Italy has won the award for best cake, Japan took the award for best artistic work, and Mexico achieved the best bonbons while Poland won the prize for best single ice cream portion.
