Edible Growth: sustainable and healthy aperitifs in 3D

The latest invention (in the investigation phase) in 3D printing food comes from the Dutch designer Chloé Rutzerveld, who plans to create 3D shapes containing a mixture of seeds, spores and yeast to grow for five days, resulting in natural snacks which are sustainable and tasty.

A project that makes clear that ideas about 3D printing for small productions are limitless, and leaves an open debate about whether “technological” foods can taste the same and have the same nutrients than food cooked conventionally.
