Ponthier completes expansion and modernization of its facilities

Ana RodríguezIn November 2020, despite the difficult situation following the COVID-19 pandemic, Ponthier decided to invest to anticipate future market demands, achieve its decarbonization goals, and improve the quality of its work.
In October 2021, it began major expansion and modernization work at its production plant and offices in Objat. This project has now culminated in an opening ceremony attended by so good.. magazine and is actively contributing to regional development.
With these changes, the company has increased its total surface area from 8,500 m² to 14,500 m² by building an extension adjacent to the existing facilities. The integration of new cold storage facilities, tripling storage capacity, along with the expansion of the workshops and the addition of new lines, will more than double production capacity.
Furthermore, the installation of fully automated lines has significantly reduced the physical effort associated with fruit preparation and product packaging. The modernization limits manual handling tasks, especially during palletizing, while offering the opportunity to improve the skills of production teams through training in line operation.
As part of its firm commitment to people, quality of life, and working conditions, the company has completely restructured and expanded its social areas and offices, paying particular attention to architecture and interior design. Since 2021, a €29 million investment has been made.
This inauguration marks the culmination of more than four years of work aligned with Ponthier’s mission, namely, “advocating delicious, healthy, and responsible fruit,” inspired by the company’s entire team and value chain (employees, producers, customers, and partners), and which puts processed fruit into circulation that sustainably contributes to consumer well-being and preserves nature.
