On the occasion of its 170th anniversary, Cointreau organized the Cocktail Show Event in Paris on June 12. Nearly 400 guests (media, partners, bartenders, employees of the firm) from 24 countries joined the party, which was fittingly Belle Époque-themed, at the Pavillon Elysée. Some of the ambassadors of the brand who are more closely linked to pastry did not miss out on the event, ambassadors such as Jean-Michel Perruchon, Laurent Moreno, Emmanuel Ryon, Etienne Leroy, Stéphane Glacier, Bruno Van Vaerenbergh, and Thierry Dumouchel, among others.

In the spectacular event, well-known bartenders served versions of four classic cocktails that have influenced the history of the brand. Aurélie Panhelleux, co-owner of Paris’s CopperBay and recently named one of France’s Top 10 Most Influential Bars, created her own spin on the Margarita; Toby Cecchini, inventor of the famous Cosmopolitan, created a twist on his New York classic; Antonio Lai, award-winning Japanese bartender, took the lead on the Cointreau Fizz, and Pepijn Vanden Abeele, Bar Director of oh-so-creative Sketch in London, prepared a revamped Sidecar. Although the protagonists were the cocktails, a menu was also presented by the French chef Thierry Marx, tinted with Cointreau, who demonstrated the great versatility of the liquor.

But the celebration does not end in Paris. In the course of 2019 and 2020, Le Cocktail Show will bring the spirit of the Belle Époque to bars and stores around the world. The signature drinks will come alive through digital activations, grocery store pop-ups, eye-catching merchandise, and the French rendez-vous of the year: Cocktail Monday bar events.

And to top it all of, Cointreau has also announced the launch of a limited edition bottle, designed by interior designer Vincent Darré and available in the fall.
