From November 8 to 11, 2025, the Salon du Chocolat, Pâtisserie & Boulangerie in Vannes hosted the first Coupe du Monde de la Viennoiserie.

This championship gathered 14 teams from around the world to compete in technical and artistic challenges, showcasing the art of puff pastry, butter, and fermentation.

A jury of experts and Meilleur Ouvrier de France (Best Craftsmen of France) judged the creations based on technique, flavor, originality, and aesthetics. The first prize was awarded to South Korea for its exceptional performance and consistency. Jihyun Yung and Cyril Gaudin presented an android that combines technology, flowers, and pastry to symbolize the harmony between innovation and human sensitivity. The second prize went to Switzerland, and the third to Canada.

This competition was created by Pâtissiers dans le Monde (Pastry Chefs of the World), an association founded by Jean-François Devineau that promotes exchange, gastronomic encounters and the transmission of authentic pastry tradition.
