Luis ConcepciónThe latest edition of the Gelato World Cup has confirmed a change of direction for this competition. A new era has begun under the leadership of Sergio Colalucci as president, who promised and delivered on his commitment to fair play and transparency.
Italy was penalized 2,700 points for an irregularity that was blatantly detected and nearly resulted in their disqualification. As a result, Italy, who were poised to win the competition again, finished in ninth place. This dramatic turn of events meant that, for the first time, Italy did not win the tournament. The competition concluded with Singapore taking the victory, France in second place, and Argentina in third. Four days of competition culminated in an official awards ceremony at Sigep, the venue that has always hosted this event.

The Singapore team won the Gelato World Cup 2026 with “The Circus,” a vibrant and technically flawless theme inspired by balance, precision, and wonder. Led by Jason Tan (delegate), the team consisted of Dexter Lee, Loh Cheng Kit, and Chew Wei Lung. Their performance stood out for its technical mastery, narrative strength, and creative consistency across all the challenges, confirming Singapore as a global leader in contemporary artisan gelato.
France portrayed movement as its theme

France took second place with “The Dance of Animals,” an elegant and expressive concept inspired by the movement, rhythm, and harmony of nature. Under the direction of Hervé Dartois (delegate), the French team was made up of Enzo Baptista, Jean-Sebastien, and Allan Cartignies. While France emphasized a visually captivating presentation with a play of lights and music at the buffet, they opted for a combination of refined flavors in the tasting portion.
Finally, a true classic of this competition, Argentina, once again delivered a strong performance, this time securing third place. The South American country chose “The Garden of Butterflies” as its theme, a poetic and colorful interpretation of transformation, biodiversity, and lightness. Led by Eduardo Zacaria (delegate), the team consisted of Diego Calculli, Diego Colaneri, and Sergio Federico Mercado. Their work impressed the jury with the emotional power of the narrative, the balance of flavors, and the technical consistency.
