On October 26th, the Salon Pâtiss’Art in Deauville (Calvados, Normandy) will host the new Trophée Grand Prix Pâtiss’Art, sponsored by Toques Françaises and Relais Desserts.

Designed to showcase the excellence and passion of French pastry, its theme is an iconic dessert: the Religieuse. Each candidate will compete in two categories: a boutique-style Religieuse and a contemporary Religieuse, a 2.0 version served on a plate with orange blossom.

The five candidates are the following: Gaspard Carrando, pastry chef at Maison Jean Paul Hévin Paris; Stéphanie Dorrier, chef-owner of Temps des Saisons restaurant in Jonage (Isère, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes); Moulaye Fanny, pastry chef and consultant based in Brives-la-Gaillarde (Nouvelle Aquitaine); Adrien Petitgenêt, pastry chef at Cures Marines Hôtel & Spa Trouville Gallery Collection in Trouville-sur-Mer (Calvados, Normandy); and Fabrice Pottier, pastry chef-owner of Maison Pottier in Marcoussis (Essonne, Ile de France).

The jury, chaired by MOF members Nicolas Bernaré and Maxime Frédéric, will evaluate technical mastery, aesthetics, balance of flavors, creativity, and flavor.
