Jean-Michel Perruchon, awarded the title of Meilleur Ouvrier de France (Best Craftsman of France) in 1993 and co-founder, along with Joël Bellouet, of the prestigious École Bellouet Conseil, has announced his retirement.
To celebrate his extraordinary career, Pierre Marcolini, Marc Debailleul, Marc Ducobu, Luigi Biasetto, and Emmanuel Ryon, among other renowned pastry chefs, gathered in early November at Brussels City Hall.
During the evening, organized by Paul Segers, International Sales Director of Cointreau Gastronomie, Perruchon shared his experience and expertise with thousands of professionals from around the world. The event highlighted not only the MOF’s influence on European pastry but also the strong sense of community among the chefs who have been inspired by his work and legacy.
In early 2025, Puratos acquired École Bellouet Conseil. Their aim is for the school to maintain its independence and continue preserving the rich heritage of French baking and pastry making. To achieve this, Perruchon will collaborate with the multinational company and remain actively involved until the end of the year.
