The high-profile ranking 50 Best Restaurants does not miss the chance to select the best pastry chefs every year. In its 2016 Asian edition, the jury has selected Cheryl Koh, a professional from Singapore who is able to combine heading the dessert station at the restaurant Les Amis (which is ranked 12th in the Asian ranking) with the daily tasks at Tarte, a personal patisserie specializing in tartlets.

With a strong French education forged in kitchens such as the iconic Parisian restaurant Lasserre, this 36-year-old professional decided to focus on pastry before joining the Les Amis group in 2010.
In previous editions, this award sponsored by Cacao Barry went to the Japanese chef Hidemi Sugino (2015) and Janice Wong (2013 and 2014).
