Japanese selection – Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie 2014

The Japanese elimination round for the next World Pastry Cup in Lyon served up a range of high quality creations of great precision. Azuhiro Nakayama, Junji Tokunaga and Shinichi Sugita won through to become the members of a team that will, without doubt, be key contenders in the world final. Don’t miss the spectacular video which reviews how the three chefs were selected.

Azuhiro Nakayama (Pastelería Occitanial) will create the artistic sugar piece and the cake, Junji Tokunaga (Ritz Carlton, Tokyo) will be responsible for the chocolate piece and the dessert plate, and Shinichi Sugita (Grand Hyatt, Tokyo) will work on the ice piece and the ice cream cake. It is worth noting that Nakayama and Tokunaga finished in second position after the elimination round last year, in 2013.
