CRPC4 Preview: Freaks of the Industry

The Emmy Award-winning Chicago Restaurant Pastry Competition (CRPC) Season Four: Freaks of the Industry was shot last March by the executive producers Jimmy & Julie MacMillan of JMPurePastry at the Chicago School of Mold Making in Oak Park, Illinois, and will be shown online from September to December in JMPurePastry.com.

A change from previous seasons, the MacMillans took on every aspect of the show’s production, from filming to editing and effects. And this is one reason why “we have been able to give the audience a show that was not only professional with stunning desserts, but fun and creative,” says Jimmy, who operates consulting business JMPurePastry, heads the pastry department of The University Club of Chicago, and is a 2015 Pastry Live judge.

Tyler Atwell, executive pastry chef of Boulud Sud (New York); Kei Hasegawa, pastry chef at Matsuhisa (Beverly Hills, California); Deden Putra, executive pastry chef at The Peninsula New York (New York), and Evan Sheridan, pastry chef of The Umstead Hotel & Spa (Cary, New York) are the four finalists blindly selected this year from among dozens of international candidates for their mastery of pastry techniques and dedication to sweet cuisine.
