On May 20th, France’s second public TV channel will fire the starting pistol for the second season of the pastry talent show, “Qui será le prochain grand pâtissier?” (Who will be the next great pastry chef?) Once again, ten professional pastry chefs will battle for the coveted title in front of the gaze of the cameras, the spotlights and an exceptional judging panel, comprised of Christophe Michalak, Christophe Adam, Pierre Marcolini and Philippe Urraca.

The channel has already begun to warm up its engines through its web page, while at the same time opening up the registration process for participating in the third season next year. The successful audience ratings of the first season and the high level of skill demonstrated by the contestants surely indicate a similar audience response this time around. In fact, pastry is currently fashionable in Gaul, some say even more so than cooking, perhaps due to the idyllic and settled relationship that high quality pastry cooking now has with the TV studio.
