The first edition of the Art & Pastry Festival in Lugano (Switzerland) is putting the final touches to the organization of an extensive program of lectures, courses, round-table conferences, workshops and contests with which it intends to attract an estimated public of 2,000 to 2,500 people as we have been informed. It will take place on the weekend of 2nd and 3rd March, and will consist of more than 30 activities.

Sponsored by great figures of Italian and Spanish patisserie such as Iginio Massari, Eliseo Tonti and Paco Torreblanca, the content of its demonstrations endeavors to cover all the facets and current trends related to pastry, especially on its most artistic side. Macaroons, plated desserts, the art of sugar and chocolate, the cake art design, cocktails and carved fruit, croquembouches and many other creations will be closely dealt with, usually in practical sessions for small groups of people, throughout the two days of this Festival.

Other names which stand out of the list of the Festival are Luca Montersino, Gianluca Fusto, Joseph Trotta, Davide Malizia, Sonia Balacchi, Giuseppe Piffaretti, Jean François Foucher and Zoe Clark. The organizers remind us that there will be an exhibition area suitable for about thirty participating companies, and that the public will have the chance to enjoy two regional competitions devoted to Panettone and chocolate figures.
