The latest edition of Food&HotelAsia (FHA), which took place from April 24 to 27 in Singapore, was visited by 81,896 attendees from more than 105 countries/regions, 14% more than in 2016. In addition, for the first time, exhibitors to decades-long partnerships saw Asia’s international food & hospitality trade event host 3,500 exhibitors from 76 countries / regions and 71 pavilions of international groups, including the new participating countries Latvia, Tunisia, and Qatar.

The Salon was also where hundreds of culinary talents from around the world demonstrated their skills in recognized competitions, some of them pastry related such as the Asian Pastry Cup, which gave the Malaysian team the gold and allowing them to go straight to the Coupe du Monde of the Pâtisserie 2019, and the Asian qualifier for the C3 Valrhona and won by Yusuke Aoki (Indonesia), who will participate in the grand final of the C3 in New York.

The success of FHA2018 highlights the ability of the event to discover trends. In the words of Rodolphe Lameyse, Project Director, Food & Hospitality of UBM, organizer of FHA2018, “We are delighted at the event’s achievement for bringing both new and relevant players under one roof. This puts us in a great position to roll out our 2020 growth vision with two shows – FHA-HoReCa and FHA-Food & Beverage. The high level of trust our exhibitors have in us is evident in the bookings we’ve recorded even before the 2018 show ended.”
